Many of us have bought an electronic keyboard or organ on the strength of a demo from the salesperson. But when we get it home, it doesn’t seem to sound so wonderful after all. That’s because the demonstrators know the ‘tricks of the trade’, which include choice of sound and music, and various playing styles which really enhance the effect. This isn’t cheating – we can do exactly the same if we know the tricks of the trade too.
